I'm fortunate in having a daughter (Val) who knows Rain, and thus I own a lovely piece of her earlier work. It's great to see the fantastic pieces that she's continuing to produce.
The Metropolitan Center for the Visual Arts is a successful 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization with a mission to develop a passion for the visual arts, foster creative activity, and expand artistic knowledge through exemplary education, exhibition, and community outreach programs serving children and adults. Over the past 22 years, VisArts has grown in size, opening a 30,000 square foot, state-of-the art facility in the fall of 2007. VisArts multiplied its services to the Metropolitan area by becoming an arts institution whose solid programs meet our community’s need for gallery exhibitions, professional seminars, and outreach and education programs. VisArts provides visual arts programs for children, teens, and adults of all abilities and ages.

Throughout the ages the teapot's intriguing form and shape has piqued the curiosity and devotion of collectors around the world. The splendid worlds of craft and design come together to create fantastical visions of this traditional icon of hearth and home.
VisArts at Rockville is proud to sponsor a Tea Party and fundraiser featuring the spectacular works of nationally recognized and highly collected artists whose aesthetics center on the teapot. Some teapots are functional, some are sculptural, and all are beautiful and unique additions to existing collections or the perfect centerpiece for a new collection. Teapots, tea bowls, and tea sets will be featured for your consideration.
Join us on October 25, 2009 between 1 and 4 pm, for a Tea Party in our beautiful, 28,000 square foot art center in the heart of Rockville, Maryland to benefit VisArts' Education and Outreach Programs that have served the metropolitan DC area for more than twenty years.
Meet other collectors, and enjoy high tea with tasty treats in an arty and inspiring atmosphere while adding a teapot (or two) to your collection.
